WSL to hold a reality style surf show on ABC called “The Ultimate Surfer”
If you can’t get enough of reality shows and you love surfing then you are about to have your minds blown. WSL is creating a surf competition-style reality show to find the best young surfer in the world. The series will begin on August 23 and 24 at 10 pm ET and PT on ABC for a two-night premiere.
Former NFL quarterback Jesse Palmer will host the series with sports anchor Erin Coscarelli and Joe Turpel to serve as commentators. Kelly Slater will also be a part of the series, acting in a consultant role and serving as a special correspondent.
If you have ever seen the UFC’s competition show called “The Ultimate Fighter” then you have the premise. The surfers will live together and surf at the Surf Ranch in Lemoore, California. There will be weekly cuts and the goal is to award one male and one female surfer a spot on the WSL Championship Tour.
