Caroline Marks is still charging even though the WSL CT is over at the Nissan Super Girl Pro.

Marks has won the first-ever Nissan Super Girl Pro at the Oceanside Pier in CA. Marks made her way through a tough head-to-head competition to secure the win over Caitlin Simmers. Simmers started off putting it to Marks with a 7.10 and a 7.17. Marks answered back with a6.50. Simmers was ahead heading into the final minutes, but Marks went over the lip with an air-reverse to lay down an 8.33 to take home the victory.

“It feels so good,” exclaimed Marks. “I’ve gotten second here before and third a bunch as well so I’m really stoked to get that win. It was such a fun Final. I did that air reverse to win which was really special. It’s something I’ve been working on and my goal, just in general, is to push the progression of women’s surfing.”

Marks took home the Super Girl cape with hopes that it will bring her luck as she gets ready to get back in the water at the US Open of Surfing taking starting on Monday in CA. Marks had a good 2021 season although she didn’t make it to the WSL Final five and the competition in Lower Trestles. She did however make it to the US Surfing team and had the experience of competing for her country in Tokyo at the 2020 Olympic Games.

Marks is a force to be reckoned with.

Marks has proven that she has what it takes to win surf competitions against the best out there. With the Championship Tour getting back on a regular schedule after a canceled 2020 season, look for Marks to continue her rise to the top and be in contention to potentially take the big WSL prize home with her in 2022.
